Atex & Compex
Electrical installations need to be tested regularly, but in hazardous or explosive environments, this can be difficult to do and engineers MUST be fully qualified to do so in line with current legislation. There are international and European standards for the maintenance and inspection of electrical systems in hazardous or explosive areas, which are covered in BS EN 60079. It ensures safety during any work carried out in explosive atmospheres.
Our Hazardous Area Inspections
Compex offer guidelines and competency validations for all staff who work in hazardous conditions. Carrying out the work to their high standards will help prevent accidents, which could result in fatalities. Their assessment meets the requirements set out by The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) and Explosive Atmospheres Directives (ATEX).
